NCPDF BTSAThe NCPDF BTSA Project represents an alliance of the following institutions:
All members are committed to supporting the delivery of quality induction and ongoing professional development activities to new teachers. Using the teacher as leader and trainer model, professional development activities emphasize the importance of sharing and learning from each other. Areas addressed include the following: student assessment, California Frameworks and Standards, Student Engagement, The Differentiated Classroom, Brain Based Research, the EL Learner, beginning teacher support, the California Standards for the Teaching Profession, job embedded learning, reflective practices, and the teaching of literacy, to name a few. Workshops are held at the North County Regional Education Center (NCREC) and various school sites throughout North County. The CFASST Model is used by new teachers and support providers. Participants may receive BTSA credit through California State University, San Marcos and are also eligible to attend sessions presented by the San Diego County Office of Education. The NCPDF-BTSA Project represents a strong collaborative effort which assisted 85 new teachers in North County schools during the 2005-2006 school year.
